Regulation & Directive on Payment Services (PSR & PSD)

Bitkom has been a staunch supporter of the main objectives outlined in PSD2: creating a more integrated and efficient European payments market, that fosters competition and innovation, whilst ensuring a high level of security and consumer protection, in a technology and business model-neutral way that allows for the development of new types of payment services. This increased data sharing facilitates the development of new and innovative financial services and products, benefiting both consumers and businesses. Yet, there remain some challenges linked to market fragmentation, consumer experience, or lack of standardization, which shall be resolved under the new frameworks: PSR, PSD & FIDA.
