As part of the evaluation of the DSM Directive (Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market), Bitkom participated in the European Commission’s stakeholder consultation on Text and Data Mining (TDM). In its response, Bitkom highlights the crucial role of the TDM exception for data-driven innovation, artificial intelligence, and Europe’s competitiveness. At the same time, Bitkom calls for greater legal certainty in the application of the rules, particularly regarding opt-outs and the use of data for AI model development.
