A Strategy for European Innovation and Competitiveness
Startups and scaleups play a crucial role in securing Europe’s digital sovereignty and economic competitiveness. At our exclusive roundtable "Scaling Europe: A Strategy for European Innovation and Competitiveness", held on 27 March 2025 in Brussels, selected policymakers, entrepreneurs and ecosystem stakeholders came together to explore how Europe can better support its innovation-driven companies.
Co-hosted by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and Bitkom, and supported by the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the European Union, the event offered a space for open exchange and strategic discussion.
Key topics included:
Lessons learned from the implementation of the German Startup Strategy,
Expectations and priorities for the upcoming EU Startup & Scaleup Strategy,
Necessary reforms for cross-border growth, capital markets and regulatory frameworks.
We were pleased to welcome insights from:
András Inotai, Acting Head of Taskforce on Startups & Scaleups, DG Research and Innovation
Dr. Matthias Koehler, Deputy Director-General for Digital Policy, BMWK
Dr. Carsten Rudolph, Managing Director, BayStartUP
