Questionnaire for the report on the General Data Protection Regulation
Since May 2018, the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has significantly shaped the landscape of data protection practices across member federations. Bitkom appreciates the opportunity to engage in the public consultation for the 2024 report by the European Commission.
Our assessment of the GDPR's application reveals a multifaceted landscape. While there is a consensus on the need for ongoing evaluation and improvement, the specific nuances of concerns and proposed solutions highlight the complexity of the data protection landscape in Europe. Addressing these priority issues will contribute to the continued effectiveness of the GDPR in balancing data protection and technological innovation.
