Bitkom on Sanctions under the GDPR: Comments on the German DPA model

On 14 October 2019, the German Data Protection Conference (Datenschutzkonferenz, DSK) published its position on fines under the GDPR. Please find attached Bitkom’s opinion on the concept: While we welcome the aim of standardising supervisory practices, we urge the EDPB to include the attached considerations in the upcoming draft of a European concept to ensure proportionality, consistency and avoid contradictions with provisions in the GDPR.
