Bitkom on the European Commission’s White Paper on AI
The EU’s regulatory framework for AI will take fundamental decisions on the technology and strongly influence the use for European societies as well as future competitiveness of the EU’s economy. The technology’s wide reach means that it touches many areas of the law. Given that the technology is at an early stage of its development key concepts are still in flux and effects can only be anticipated. In order to shape rules, Europe has to leave room for developing the technology for the benefit of the society and economy, which is the basic premise Bitkom’s position is based on.
