DIGITALEUROPE

BITKOM is one of the few national ICT organizations with a seat and a voice on the Executive Board of DIGITALEUROPE, the central association for ICT and consumer electronics in Europe. Here, BITKOM represents the interests of its members in four main topics: digital economy policy, environmental policy, technical and regulatory policy and trade policy.
 
History
DIGITALEUROPE was founded in 1999 as the European Information and Communications Technology Industries Association through the merger of two previous organizations. 2001 saw the merger with EACEM, the European Association for Consumer Electronics. The newly formed organization changed its name to the European Information, Communications and Consumer Electronics Technology Industry Association. DIGITALEUROPE unites more than 40 national ICT organizations from 28 countries and has more than 60 companies as full members. Altogether, DIGITALEUROPE represents 10,000 companies in Europe with more than two million employees and yearly revenues of more than one trillion Euros.

 

Mission
As the voice of the European ICT/CE industries on the European level:

  • DIGITALEUROPE is an instrument for the representation of sectoral interests.
  • DIGITALEUROPE is the platform for the placement and implementation of EU-policies and serves as a intermediary between politics, administration and business.
  • DIGITALEUROPE furthers the long-term business success of its members.
